For every child who has ever ridden a horse, Pippa Funnells story is the stuff of dreams. Her path from starry eyed pony clubber to eventing world number one has, however been fraught with setbacks. Now all her hard work - mucking out in the dark, the twelve hour days in the freezing cold has paid off. Pippa has won all the top prices, plus various Olympic, World and European Championship medals. In 2003 she attracted huge media coverage as eventing first Grand slam winner, with victories at Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky. This feat made her a household name and earned her prominence in the BBCs sports Personality of the Year, where only the success of Englands rugby players kept her from winning the award.
